Dr. Simmons is a board-certified dermatologist who served as Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and currently serves as Adjunct Professor at Meharry Medical College. She is the founder and Medical Director of Simmons Skin Center and earned her medical degree with honors from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Her research includes a double-blind randomized controlled trial of intralesional corticosteroid administration, a retrospective study of cutaneous manifestations of celiac disease, and survey research identifying education gaps in alopecia and hair health. She is GCP certified and has been active in dermatology education, research, and clinical care across a wide range of dermatologic conditions.
